Technical Session

Date(s): April 24, 2010

Contact: Bob Carpenter ( 248) 676-9955

Come join us from 10:00 - 2:00 for our next technical session.

The purpose of the Technical Sessions, beside being a social activity, is to assist MCP Packard owners by repairing technical concerns on their Packards utilizing the willingness and experience of other MCP members. The Carpenters sponsor this activity because they have a workshop with a vehicle hoist and tools to accomplish most mechanical repairs. The Packard Tech Sessions are held in the spring each year to get as many Packards as possible running and able to attend the Fremont activity.

Typically, this is how a Technical Session goes:

1) In March a letter goes to all MCP members to solicit a list of Packards requesting technical assistance.

2) The list is developed to address those Packards with technical concerns that can be handled within a 4-6 hour Tech Session, providing time also for a social lunch. If necessary, arrangements are made to transport and store non-running vehicles to the Carpenter residence ahead of Tech Session day.

3) Tech Sessions start at 10:00 AM. Sometimes we will have a short presentation or technical demonstration prior to the start of the hands-on activity.

4) The hands-on activity runs to 12:00 noon when we break for a picnic lunch in the storage barn. MCP attendees are requested to bring a dish to pass for the lunch.

5) The hands-on activity continues into the afternoon until the concerns are accomplished or a mini tornado blows us away...
